I'm using ZoomPlayer 3.30, and I want to use xvid decoder for xvid content. Things look setup right, but if I go to Player Options -> System it lists ffdshow decoder above the xvid decoder in the list. does it mean it will if at all possible use ffdshow for playback? if so how do I set xvid decoder to be primary?

I went to Filter Control -> Customized Media Playback -> A/V Decoders tab and set xvid decoder as the only decoder for xvid video, as well as gave xvid decoder higher merit priority, so everything looks like xvid decoder should be used, but then why does System tab lists ffdshow first? purely alphabetic ordering? but then why does it list it at all since I removed ffdshow from filter list for xvid in A/V Decoders tab.

Thanx for your help!

Is ffdshow's XviD decoding really disabled ???

When yes, maybe ffdshow's raw "decoding" is enabled...

Just open ffdshow while playback and check the input under info !!!

- If the input is XviD, ffdshow still decodes the XviD file

- If the input is something like RAW YV12, its only passed through

btw I remember the older ffdshow gui used to have a tab where you could set which formats to decode, is this gone for good now? I have may 23, 2003 build

As Soulhunter wrote...in ffdfshow configuration you have to set "disabled" at the XviD dropdownlist at Codecs tab.

Your configuration in ZP looks ok.

(An higher merit isn't necessary.)
