I have a 700 Duron cpu for the time being. MPC's default mpeg2 decoder was skipping and the cpu was too high. PowerDVD codec ran great. When I finally got PowerDVD codec to work in MPC, as I like MPC as my default player, the source aspect ratio is always too tall and it seems also that it recognizes the source at a smaller resolution than it really is. When I use the WinDVD codec or the MPC codec, the aspect ratio is correct. This problem only occurs when opening .vob files, the codec works fine when I view DVD disc. I really prefer the PowerDVD codec (I'm really picky!!) Any clue as to the cause or a solution?
