After making a backup of a DVD, when you insert another DVD to backup, click open disc, and select your disc, nothing happens. No pre-analyzing of the new DVD.
Offcourse restarting DVDshrink helps.

I have experienced the same thing. I thought it was just my system, Yeah I always just exit and re-launch the program. It may have something to do with the cache files.
It will save any DVD analysations in a cache. It should analyse a new DVD if you haven't put that disc in Shrink before.

It doesn't, nor does it give a new DVD structure.

something for you guys to try.
after you put in the new dvd open "my computer" from your desktop. has the new dvd been recognised there ? if yes then try open disc then.
if it has not then hit F5 on your keyboard (refreshes the window and should refresh the drives). if the new dvd is recognised now then try open disc.
please reply with results.

I tried that, windows recognizes the new DVD, DVDshrink does too because it gives the right volume label when you select the new disc, but it just doesn't analyze or give a new DVD structure.
To test this I didn't even backup a DVD this time, just put one in, let it analyse, and put another in.
Running on winXP SP1 if that's important.
I've seen that same problem, but I found a solution that has worked perfectly for me.
Once you've taken out the first DVD and put in the next one, go to the File menu, and click on "Close All Open DVDs". Then proceed as you did before, clicking on open disc or open files, and you should have no problem.
Let us know if it works for you as well as it does for me.

The difference is my dvdshrink window does not blank when I remove a DVD, but it does when I click Close all open DVD's.
Does your explorer window blank when viewing DVD contents and remove the DVD? Mine doesn't. If yours does, it's probably a windows setting or something ;)

if i have a dvd open in a window and press eject the window doesnt go blank it closes completely. so yes it sounds as if it could be a windows problem. thats why i was asking about if putting a new dvd in got recognised when you had "my computer" window open(as in the dvd name changed).
