Both DVDShrink and DVD2one (the MAC version) were shown on the computer television show "The Screen Savers" on TechTV. The host Kevin Rose did a great segment reviewing and demonstrating the programs.
It is sad because another company acquired TechTV on May 28th and it may now be no more. What other television station showed you how to backup dvds?
Did anyone else watch the show? I know TechTV is (was) shown in 70 countries.

AFAIK, G4/TechTV is keeping TSS going. That's one of the few things G4/TechTV has going for it (and unfortunately they've all but dumped Leo LePorte - it's glaringly obvious his bits are prerecorded).
I find the overall production qualities of the new merger to be a fair step down from TechTV, and TechTV wasn't particularly polished to begin with. Besides, too many of the G4 shows feel like a collection of game infomercials.
For anyone interested, there's a lot of news about the merger and the new "network" at the Leoville Town Square TechTV Forum (http://leovilletownsquare.com/ubbthreads/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=TechTV).

I always like this show...and that Dark Tipper guy is funny.
Though he seems to like macs way too much!
I noticed they didn't say which one they thought was better, dvd2one or dvdshrink though. He did say he prefers dvdshrink on his pc..so since dvd2one exists on the pc as well, that probably means he prefers dvd shrink

Kevin actually goofed explaining dvdshrink. He said something to the effect that the greenbar showing 4.7GB was too much and had to be reduced when he should have showed the compression levels of the individual titles and explained how they were being reduced to fit. Then greenbar wasn't showing too much data.
Also he goofed when he said dvd2one was "$29" when it's more like $40. Regardless it was good publicity cuz time and time again when I go into Fry's I hear those salesman selling the lastest dvd copy software and it sends me into a frenzy. Some of them I end up talking to and give them a viewpoint just as biased as the salesman.
If anyone wants to see Kevin back with his hacker and doesn't have TechTV or G4 whatever it is now (I just got it like a month ago) friend I suggest downloading AVI3 http://www.easynews.com/mirrors/The_Broken/
