View Full Version : Does encoding disturbe...?
I was wondering if other things can be done (like browsing the web or listening to mp3s) at the same time when encoding with DVD-Rb (in CCE or ReJig mode)? Or will there be some problems in the output if I do so?
My specs are inexact: Athlon 750MHz, 256MB + Win2000.

I don't think so, I have been using my PC as rebuilder/cce works. I use a PIII, 1G with 256mb ram.

I don't think too. But opening mpv/d2v or other file used/in use by dvd-rb isn't so safe i think.

It wouldn't hurt to set the DVD-RB process priority to low, otherwise everything is painfully slow waitting for processor cycles! Obviously doing anything will slow down the encode, but it shouldn't effect the resulting product if you leave DVD-RB's files alone.
I just want to thank Jdobbs for DVD-RB, I know everyone always thanks him, but he really does deserve it :D

I have P4 HT @ 3GHz and 512 MB and while encoding with CCE 2.5 my son is playing Vice City - graphically intensive game, but there is also Radeon 9800 with 128 MB on board. So, depends on machine.

i sometimes set the priority of DVD-RB to "low" and do my regular thing like surfing, decrypting, burning, and even checking avs files with the media player. everything's just slower. but setting CCE to low priority hardly helps since it gets closed and restarted by DVD-RB anyway, ie. it gets reset to normal priority.
