I've done a few DVD-9 to DVD-5 conversions using DVD-Shrink alright (it's the bomb). I've got a double-sided dvd though (the kind you have to flip around in the middle of playing). What would be the easiest way to convert this to one DVD-R? They're DVDs full of music videos so don't have to worry about merging one bit movie, the main problem will be renaming the vobs and making new menus. Maybe have a single main menu saying "Disc A", "Disc B", each pointing to the individual DVD's menus?

Easiest way is to use DVDShrink or DVD2one.

But the menus will be gone.

Don't even think about converting a double sided DVD into one dvd-r!! The quality will be crap, unless they seriously wasted space on the disk.
I've done this kind of thing before, its a waste of time.
Just back up each side...or get one of those double sided dvd-r's

Well it's a dvd of music videos and there aren't that many videos on each side. (There's stuff other than music videos that I don't really want also). It's definitely DVD-5 on each side. I'd have the same problem if I used a dual-layer DVD-R, I'd have to recreate the menus is some way that I could access everything. I really hate having to keep turning around the DVD.
