No, Kiss will release some recording players very soon, but I understand that they will capture output in MP2 format.

The Divx encoding devices will start to come to market though. I have already seen some video cameras that capture to MP4.

The new Kiss DP6xx family of DVD players/recorders will also have a HDD and optional DVD burner, so you can capture video material on HDD and later burn it to DVD to archive it. Most interesting is that you can either use the MPEG-4 standard supporting the MP4 container format or Windows Media 9 with these new standalone players (first release probably September/October 2004).

And there are at least two digicams already supporting the MPEG-4 standard with MPEG-4 video, stereo AAC audio and MP4 file format: Sanyo Xacti and Olympus C-770.

Yes there will be a DVDR writer included in future models.

Interestingly I heard a rumour that the dp-568 will record to mp4 divx. But Im not sure if this is true yet. We should start to see the dp-558 come to market soon that is a PVR device that records to mpeg2.
