Hi, I tried DVD Rebuilder for the first time over the weekend and I am very impressed with the way it performs. The way I would normally shrink DVD to fit on a single disk would be to use DVD2DVDR to do all the encoding then use Maestro to re-author and maybe edit some of the original non re-encoded video in with the re-encoded movie at problem points. Sometimes you get a scene which ends up being re-encoded at a higher bit rate than the original but still looks far worse. This brings me to my question, I see you have gone for a split on cell id encoding method, so would it be possible to have an option so you could leave certain cells in there original non re-encoded state?

Thanks for the reply, I’ve given it a try and its not a bad little program but because it uses DVD Decrypter for the demux it cant be used with files on you hard drive. :(

Make an image of the files using Nero or other, mount with daemon tools and use dvddecrypter on it again :)

Thanks for the replies, I was just hoping that maybe the ability to substitute a re-encoded chapter with an original chapter could have been a built in option on a later version. It is pretty easy to do manually, but anything which saves time…
Thanks.

I've actually thought about that as an option. I'll put it on the feature list -- but I can't predict when it will be implemented. I'm still beating my head against the wall on the subtitle issue that some folks are reporting (which, by the way, I still can't repeat).
