My fault for being too hasty and not reading the stickies. Sorry about that!

Hi there,

I'm attempting to convert an .avi file into an MPEG2 file using AVI2DVD. I have done this many times before without any problems.

However, I am experiencing issues with the following file...

Size: 700.00 MB
Framerate: 23.976 fps
Resolution: 512x288
Videocodec: XviD
Audio: MP3, stereo, VBR, 98 kbps (49/ch stereo), 44.1 kHz

...and the problem occurs at the audio processing stage.

I have set AVI2DVD to convert the audio to 224 kbps MP2, 48 kHz. This is how I have always had it set, without any prior problems.

However, after extracting the audio and converting it to a .wav file with MADPlay (which it does just fine) it then reaches the BeSweet stage and begins transcoding really, really slowly. It takes about 10 seconds for every second of audio.

After several hours of this I decided to check the resultant encoded audio and although the filesize seemed appropriate, there was no sound within the file whatsoever.

One thing I do notice is that this .avi file has an audio sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz (see above) whereas all the other .avi's I have converted have had 48 kHz. Could this be a problem?

Here are the AVI2DVD and encoded audio log files. I hope someone can spot something which would explain why BeSweet is not able to carry out this conversion...

It is unusual to see this kind of attitude. Thanks, WhipHubley.
