Hi

I recently downloaded some media files whose audio streams were encoded with OGG 5.1 or HE-AAC 5.1. The problem in both cases was that without additional filters played only some channels - I guess Front Left and Front Right.I installed CoreAAC, the AAC-Parser and the Downmixer from Trombettworks and now I am able to hear all the channels.

According to Graphedit this downmixer is always in the playback loop - does it only downmix Ogg and AAC 5.1 - Streams or does it also modify AC3 or 2-Channel Audio with Dolby Surround ?

Which settings should I choose for playback on my system ? I have an audigy which is connected via spdif to a yamaha DD-Receiver.

Which WAVE_FORMAT setting should I choose ? WAVE_FORMAT_PCM or WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE ?

What exactly can I do with these two Mix Matrix Files in the Downmixer Directory ? Should I select 5.1 to stereo Quasi-Dolby Surround Pro Logic downmix.mixmatrix for my system ?

Last question : It seems that the Nero Burning Rom installer also installed an AAC-Decoder from Nero. How can I disable it ?

Bye

The 3ivx AAC Decoder has a "Downmix" Checkbox which can be used to force the aac decoder to always mixdown to 2 channels (unless there is only 1 channel ;))

This means there is no requirement for a downmixer filter
