View Full Version : NM4U stops while processing ?

Hi.

I've been following the newest big3 guide on this site (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/scenaid.htm) to rip my first DVD9 and up to now I have come to the point where I selected the VTS streams through DIF4U and then hit start in order for NM4U to get to work. Well, NM4U pops up and loads DVD Decrypter in order to demux the first VTS stream (VTS_01, which happens to be the main movie stream). Anyways, after demuxing the first VOB (VTS_01_0.vob), DVD Decrypter closes, however NM4U doesn't continue to demux the second vob of the VTS stream (VTS_01_1.vob). It just stays there waiting for something to happen (my CPU load is 100% during this time), however, after waiting for about 10 minutes, nothing happens.

And as I said, NM4U just stands there, without doing anything and without loading any more VOBS to demux...

Well, after waiting for around half an hour, nothing happened so I shut down NM4U while it was waiting and DIF4U went back to work by demuxing VTS_01 and VTS_02 vobs, however I do not know if shutting down NM4U was the right thing to do...

And to what it's worth, I have the option "Re-encode menus greater than 25 MB" checked in the NuMenu4U Parameters of DIF4U. All the items in the D_VTS_01_0 folder are under 25 MB... But keep in mind that I'm a complete noob so this may have nothing to do with the problem. ;)

check if there's a process running called "fieldorder.exe". There is a known problem where field order will occationally hang cauing the problem you described

I have seen this problem before myself. For some strange reason occasionaly numenu4u doesn't recognise when DVD Decrypter has terminated. A fix is in the pipeline.

You could check under task manager to ensure that dvd dec has closed properly.
