I re encoded the main movie of an NTSC DVD and was wondering if the resulting mpv came out correct...

NTSC DVD
a) Preview in DVD2AVI showed 29.97 FPS and 98-99% FILM
b) Created Force Film Project
c) Encoded d2v with CCE using Top Field First, Alternate Scan (did NOT check progressive handling)
d) Performed Pulldown

Now, when I preview the resulting mpv in DVD2Avi again, the status display flickers forth and back from "Progressive" to "Interlaced" really quickly.

Thats not supposed to be like that or is it?

Thanks and cheers for any help

Pulldown does that. If you preview the mpv that you used as the input for pulldown, you won't see the switching.

I think it's a matter of opinion whether it is correct or not for the pulldown video to switch back and forth like this. Personally I don't have a problem with it. I've never noticed any issues with playback.
