changing/adding a DTS/AC3 file to a .ts file?

I got a .ts transport stream movie with and AC3 soundtrack, and I will like to try to replace it or at least add a DTS track to this .ts

is that possible?

or do I have to extract the mpeg file and ac3 and then re-create the stream with my DTS file?
