I've noticed something strange when trying out the one pass vbr option with and without using IDCT7 (version .50a and .50b):

When using IDCT7 and the new VBR One Pass, the encode time is slightly less, by as much as 20 minutes. I also think the quality was a bit worse with IDCT7 (very hard to tell tho, could just be my eyes playing tricks). I'm thinking that they may have been switched? cause in using IDCT7 in the past, it made my encode times longer.

I also have an update for .50b
Moulin Rouge Disk 1(of 2)R1 came out to 4.30gb (it was 4.35 in .50a)
Just letting you know!

I'm also curious if its going to be possible to increase the quality of the Q analyze method, like using more passes, ect. I think it looks really good for the speed, and with a normal filter in cce it rivals a 4 pass, IMHO. Of course a four pass with normal filter... lol :) This program is great. You can choose by the difficulty of the job:)

Other things I notice with Moulin Rouge tho, is with the 4 pass, I get a lot of blocks in heavy movement/color places (like during the cancan scene after the nirvana song). When I look at the same part with the One Pass, It remains consistant and doesnt block up, and in fact, is extremly hard to notice any pixelization on my monitor unless you zoom in a bit. A few spots in the movie are blatant in both encodes tho.
Well, thats my update. Keep up the great work:)
