Hi all,
I've worked for a long time with ReelDVD and encode the audio there to 192 or 224 Kbps. Always without problems.

Recently I started authoring with Scenarist, but still encoding the audio with ReelDVD. Easyer...

Yesterday Ive tested some encodes with the Scenarist encoder.
I've aplyed the Dialog normalisation with the values that I get on SoundForge but the final ac3 file has a lower volume than the one encoded with ReelDVD.
And both lower than the original wav file (-14,5 dB).

Please help.

What should I do exactly on the Scenarist encoder to hace a decent ac3 file?

The sound was an commercial of 16:02 sec, with a peek of -1.0 dB.

I need to encode a show of 1h16m and would like to do it on Scenarist to apply the dialog norm and so on. If I can't do it, I'll go back to ReelDVD.

Many Thanks
Carlos

You can always try the AC3Machine (found in the download section) to process your ac3. It uses besweet for the encoding and lets you control pretty much everything you would want to.

i would stay away from usign besweet since it's buggy - better use a dolby licenced encoder

How is it buggy? For basic ac3 encoding, I've never had a problem with besweet.

i never used it so i really dont know...i just read that it's buggy and the author dropped support for it...maybe your DVD player isn't picky - you must be one of the lucky ones
