Is there any simple solution for problem.
I have converted a couple of 23.976 xvid to mpg2 using
virtualdub and cce.
About 5/10 comes out perfect.
But on the other the pictures is jerky.
I have read on this forum, but it doesn't help me to figure it out.
In cce i am using
offset 0
progressive flags X
and zig zag.
I have tried every combination for the one that hasn't work.
So I guess it has to be my source!
Is there anyway in virtualdub, that I can force the pic to come out the same as in the movie that worked?
Should I use a aviscript instead of virtualdub?
How should that be. Is there anywere, where I can download a script to a movie that works.
Thanks Fredde
Hi and welcome to the forum, Fredrik74.
After reading your post, I got that fuzzy feeling I should remind you of forum rule #6 (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm). OK?
About your issue. 23.976 fps is not a valid frame rate for DVD. You either need to speed it up to 25 fps for PAL or apply pulldown after encoding to get 29.97 fps if your target is NTSC. I'd suggest you simply give DVD2SVCD (which has a AVI2DVD mode) a try.

Or you may want to try my tool DIKO, which also does this conversion in a automated way. Check my signature. :D

Offcourse I use pulldown after cce is finnished.
I want to use cce because i think the result is much better, and it is fast.
I have tried tmpenc, then all the movies that hasn't work come
out right.
And i tried convering to 25 fps once with cce, it didn't make any diffrence.
Is ok to write the names of the movie you download in this forum?
Thanks fredde

How do I know if the frame that virtualdub is (23.976fps):
Progressive
top field first
Bottom filed first
Interlaced
I really don't know the what this means!
Can anyone give me a link that explane all this.
This is a pretty big forum, and it is very difficult to find.
What is progressive? Is it only on 23.976?
When it is progressive, is it tff or bff, or neigther or both?
Thanks Fredde

23.976=progressive. tff/bff is only an issue with interlaced content. Your CCE settings are correct in that regard.
I think you are off the mark in blaming the source.

NO. It is not even allowed to discuss the kind of "downloaded movies" you are obviously referring to. I now have to point you at forum rule #6 the second time, consider this a final warning.
Again, give DVD2SVCD (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=47) in AVI2DVD mode a try. I know many people are using it to convert all sorts of AVI to DVD with great success.
