Hello,

I wanted to backup Ben Hur (2 DISC). Disc 1 works normally.
But after backup of 2nd Disc some weard things appeard:

- Audio is desynch (maybe 2-3 seconds).
- Sub is desynch (about 15 seconds).
- When I click on "launch movie" in the menu PowerDVD close the movie (works only if I use Chapters_Menu)
- Main PGC after CCE is 1h 17min 34sec. The original is 1h 17min 17 sec.

In fact it seems that the problem comes from the original DVD.
It has 61 chapters. But the 39 first are "dummy".
In the VTS_01.IFO shows that the 39 firsts chapters have 12 frames each.

But when I DVDdecrypt one of those 39 chapters alone, it seems that it's not even 1 frame long.
If I DVDdecrypt the 39 chapters together, the size of the *.M2V is 3.79Mo, but with Avisynth (+ DVD2AVI) I see that it's only 36 frames.

I'm really lost.

I don't understand how it's possible that IFO says 39 chapters together = 468 frames, DVDdecrypter says 39 chapters = 468 frames , but the reality is 39 chapters = 36 frames.

Here you can find the files given by DVDDecrypter on chapters 1-39 , plus chapter 1 and 39 *.M2V only (size 20.0 ko compressed ).

Someone can help me with this mistery ?

this is similar to the problem with the stand. there are slide show chapters at the beginning (chapter 1 to 39).. they are one I-frame and if you rip by pgc you end if with 39 frames (about a 1 3/4 seconds for pal ) for video that really should take up 39x.12frames or about 20 seconds. i processed the stand by vobid and hand authored it in scenarist. came out great. everything in sync. i set all the begining cells as slide shows and set them at the same duration as given in the ifo. (for ben hur each still chapter is 12 frames) so i recomend processing by vobid

by vobid :scared:
lol. Ok. Thanks for the tip. I'll try.

But could you tell me why chapters 1-39 only gives 36 frames if I rip them with DVDDecrypter, and not 39 frames ?
DVDDecrypter has a problem with those slide show chapters ? (like you see in the *.rar, *.M2V is about ~4Mo, but when compressed it's less than 20ko).

actually if you check the file with bitrate viewer its 39 frames which is correct. the 36 frames you are getting is dvd2avi cutting out frames, not dvddecrypter

try dvd2avidg it reports 39 frames as well. dvd2avidg needs avisynth 2.5x

You are right. I used "MPEGDecoder.dll" (which use old DVD2AVI) to create the *.dv2 when I saw 36 frames.

As I'am not able to use scenaid 0.9.0.5 yet (always "Error 13, IFO_Code::GetVTSCell (line 1780)" + "Error 13 Form1::ProcessDIF (line 3630)". I think there's a solution to fix this in the Scenaid thread, but didn't find the time yet to look at it seriously), I've done the scenarist proc by hand, and it works correctly.
No more synch issues.

Thanks a lot for your help.
