Dear all,

pls take a look at the attached image:

The yellow highlighting is barely visible arount the chapter still.
Also the subpicture text, "9-15" and the rigt greek word are barely visible, thsy should both be solid white

The original colors used in photoshop were pure red for the boxes and pure blue for the text.

Any ideas?

That's a result of anti-aliasing in Photoshop. Have a look at this guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39172) that explains how to convert subpictures to indexed colors first before using them in the menus.

http://2zod.com/antialiasing.gifSurprisingly, it only helps when drawing a rectangle. Anything with curves such as text still gets anti-aliased when exported to BMP (at least in Photoshop 7). Not sure if it can be controlled somewhere in the settings.

@both:

I did have the check-box unchecked and also specified no anti-aliasing at the text layer "type".

Anyway I followed the guide that dimmer suggested and the outcome is better and surprisingly easier :)
