Got an issue with Encore DVD that someone may be able to help me sort out....

Recently installed it along with all the other toys (Divx, Xvid, TMPGenc, AC3 Machine, VirtualDub, Premiere Pro etc) on my new P4, XP-based machine

Whenever I try and play ANY audio format out of Encore DVD (wav, ac3, etc) whether it be from the timeline or during a preview, Encore returns "An Abnormal Error has occurred. You have one chance to save your project...." etc.

Its givin me the shites and I've tried everything from reinstalling the software on its own, to using different formats. Same story. Being a small production co, the work is beginning to back up. I wanna try get this sorted ASAP.
Any ideas?? Thanks....

Try updating Encore DVD. There is an update on Adobe's site.

I installed update 0.1 (Effectively changing the version number to 7.01) and the problem persisted. Note that the .wav was an output from Premiere Pro and encoded with Ac3 Machine, and the avi was encoded with TMPGenc.

Lose DivX.
It makes Encore very sad.
What other stuff do you have installed? Any of the "X" codecs are generally best avoided.

What does the system info from the help/about box say please?
We are using E£ncoreDVD on 4 machines now, and do not have problems with it at all. However, it is happiest on a clean machine, and some of the freeware available will bring it crashing down every time.

Thanx for the tip Neil.

Simply getting rid of DivX and XviD is gonna be an issue, as I archive all my completed productions on CD as DivX/XviD files. I started using Spruce Technology's "DVD Maestro" and it seems to co-exist with the X codecs happily. I will however take your advice and re-install Encore on a different clean system.
Thanx,
