Last Night I tried to make a backup of a new DVD I had bought. Everything went smoothly until it was ready to burn. DVD shrink told me that there wasnt enough space on the disk to burn the DVD however the DVD was blank and ive used this media before so I thought hmm ok np maybe a bad disc. I then poped in a maxwell DVD-r same thing disc bran new out of the package.

DVD burner is a liteon model LDW-851S 8X DVD+R 4X DVD-R

anyone ran into this problem? what can I do about it?

thanks

What size has it shrunk it to? If it's greater than 4.38Gigs then you won't fit it on a DVD-R. You might have to start again and shrink it. Watch out for multiple angles etc which can sometimes double the size of the film vobs.
4.38 is the magic number though - not 4.7Gigs or 5Gigs (DVD5).
I hope this helps.
If you use NTFS try Shrinking to an ISO image and burning with DVD Decrypter - It's much easier and DVD Decrypter is a tried and trusted freebe since the 'good old, bad old days'
