In my persuit of compiling an endless list of audio and video files created by different codecs I decided to generate some encodes using Apple iTunes Lossless Codec.

Anyways, it would appear that I can only play these encodes in Apples iTunes own player!

Is there a way of getting them to play in via players?

Cheers

Comercial company that uses DRM -> iPod -> New Proprietary Lossless codec => doesn't this mean anything to you? ;)

No, i don't think there is, besides apple software.

i suppose apple decided to develop an own proprieatary codec because the one in mpeg-4 (mpeg-4 als) is still not finalized :(

and yes therefore you can only use it in apples software/hardware (meaning itunes, quicktime and ipod)

btw alac is yet another example of how to place streams not defined by mpeg in the .mp4 container ;)
