Does anybody know of an mpeg encoder sofware (VCD, SVCD, DVD) capable of capturing in real time And with built in video noise reduction? Coz What i usually do in converting VHS to VCD is to capture it first in avi format using virtualdub and transcode it to vcd using avisynth, CCE or mainconcept. But it takes too much time. I want a more direct approach. :)
I don't know of any application with built-in denoising filters, but shouldn't be a lot of a speedup for me, if you apply denoising with Avisynth or with the encoder, what's the speed difference?
For me nothing (or a very low difference). It's the filter itself that can be fast or slow, not the application that apply it to the video in my opinion!:)

i thought cce was one of the faster mpeg2 encoders..
i do know that ffdshow mpeg2 encoder can use ffdshows denoisers, you'll have to check its speed yourself but.

the ati AIW cards (9600 and greater) have some hardware (directx9 pixel/vertex shader based) filtering as well as realtime mpeg 1, 2 & 4 capture, might be worth taking a look at them and seeing if they indeed do what you want.

ATI's newer MMC (I think starting with the 8 series) has what they call "Video Soap". It has various settings for real time filtering on capture. It is usable back to the original ATI Radeon cards with capture capability. I have an older Radeon AIW 32M using MMC 9.0. I don't use the software for capturing much though. I prefer Virtual VCR using Pegasus MJPEG codec, editing and cleaning with VDub and AVISynth and then converting to MPEG2 with CCE. Hope this helps. Enjoy! :)
