I try to make a collector personal movie into 2 DVD, like "The lord of the ring" with SCENARIST.
my goal:
At the end of the first DVD, I have the picture show "Please, insert disc 2", and then, eject the DVD, put the second DVD in the player, and the player will autom play DVD disc 2. But my problem is how to say to Scenarist DO NOT REBOOT, I have some ideas for the second DVD, like first play I link it to my second movie.
Does someone have ideas how to do it with scenarist ?
Thanks
:)

Anyway, create two separate projects, one for each part. As you suggested, linking First PGC to the title would work fine for the second part of the movie.

Thx again Dimmer,
OK, let me explain... I already create one DVD, at the end of this first dvd, I have a still picture that show "INsert disc 2", when I push the eject button on the dvd player, I lost this picture.
So, I try to display this picture until, the second dvd is enter on the dvd player.
What more action Should I do to have the picture "insert disc 2" still in screen ?

You can't do that. Once you ejected the disc, the player will display whatever picture is pre-programmed in it (logo or blank screen).

Is it a fake ? I didn’t watch LOTR DVD, and now I'm curious myself if it's indeed possible to display an image from DVD after it's been ejected. Anyone can comment on that?
In case no one can help with this, PM me with all IFO files of disc 1, but first ensure that the image "Insert disc 2" actually remains on the screen after you ejected the disc 1.
The thread you're referring to deals with adding an extra title to an already authored DVD, which is not you case. Don't see how Post commands of the First PGC can help either.

this is sad but i am interested to see how this is done, which lord of the rings film is it

Disk 1 of both The Fellowship of The Ring (Extended Edition), and The Two Towers (Extended Edition) exhibit the behaviour you describe, but neither of them leave the picture on the screen when the disk is ejected (and I just double-checked this!)
These disks were authored by Jess Bowers of Laser Pacific. I know he uses Scenarist for most of his authoring, but he does use some proprietary tools.
To the best of my knowledge, you cannot make a picture remain on the screen after disk ejection because players, in order to conform to the DVD spec, empty their registers when a disk is ejected (although some very poorly designed players do not do this properly, which is why it is always good practice to make your initial script set GPRMs to zero, before you begin filling the registers with subsequent values). Unless I am mistaken, a DVD Jacket Picture can remain on the screen when playback is stopped, but not if the disk is removed.
The short answer, therefore, is that I believe it's a spec limitation, not an authoring software limitation. You'd have to dabble with the player firmware itself to insert an alternative ('permanent') image, and this would then become the default image, and still not replaceable by a script during playback.
If anyone knows otherwise, I'd be very happy to be proved wrong, since I'd like to be able to achieve this effect myself! :)

Thanks Arky and thanks Dimmer, you right, I did an mistake :( : I check 2 times both movies; and when we eject the dvd, the dvd player reset, but i saw before one time, a movie (I cannot remenber the title) do this action:
- display a picture, eject the dvd, and wait until we put a new movie
If I retreive the name of this movie, I ket you know.
May be I watch too many movies, and I'm so confuse :o :o
Thanks Guys
Hey, no problem! I know exactly what that feels like! I did have to go and physically check my LOTR (Extended) disks on my player before I was 100% certain that Jess had not somehow achieved the impossible (i.e. circumventing the spec-compliant clearing of a player's registers when a disk is ejected). One's mind does play tricks on one after watching so many different DVDs! :)
I'd still actually prefer to be proved wrong in this instance, though, cos it would be really cool to be able to do what you were hoping for.
