Hello!
Sometime when I record a program from my DVB-s card the file I get is bigger than 4.5Gb and I'd like to fit it into one DVDR. Usually I use CCE to re-encode that file with a lower bitrate but it takes some hours... are there programs I can use to have the same behaviour as DVDShrink does with DVD files? Transcode the original file with lower bitrate?
Thanks!

I second that. Do a search on the forum. Great program.

The last Version was 0.5e (might be the last at all ... :( )

Alernatively you can author a DVD that is too big and save it on your hard drive and then use DVDShrink to downsize before burning.

...but be aware that DVD Shrink does not do a great job with interlaced sources. Rejig produces much better quality there.

No, it depends. Films (e.g. Hollywood films) are progressive, but music videos, e.g. on MTV, may be interlaced. So if you are interested mainly in films, then you won't have much interlaced content - if any at all.

If my source is too large for a DVD-R (or if I want to put two films on one medium), I use ReJig, too. The elementary stream reduction was why the program was developed in the first place. Make sure you don't go too low with the reduction percentage, else your video will be blocky, and pumping may occur (stay above 70%, depends on the source quality, though).
