View Full Version : Error after backup with BIG 3

I have just backup an DvD with the big3 DoItFast4U=> Batch=>ScenAid
It was a "easy´" Dvd as i have only the main movie over 200Mb size.
Therefor i have only VTS_01 for reencode with CCE.
Now after i have burned it on an RW DvD my standalone player cant play the dvd correctly. - it stops after starting of the movie and the trailers.
On my PC the DvD looks Ok. PowerDvD plays it correct.
If i try to load it into shrink i receive an error message like:
Invalid DvD navigation structure and shrink stops loading...
Can someone help...tell me what do you need and i will post it.
THX

sounds to me like you missed a step or messed up the ifoupdate step

Did you double check this step? Did you remember to get VTS Sectors?

Try playing the DVD in ifoedit and see what it says.. generally speaking it gives more detailed messages w/ navigation errors

You may want to try this -> http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74712&highlight=ifoupdate and also check out restricted angle in the doitfast4u knowledge base(may be an issue even with no angles).

As i have only to update VTS_01_IFO i do not think i have messed it up.
I get VTS sectors and all the other stuff recomended from this thread:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74712&highlight=ifoupdate
when i load the VTS_TS.IFO into ifoEdit there is no error message.
and ifoEdit plays the DvD correcty as PowerDvD did.

On my standalone the main menu is loaded correctly but if i choose to play any trailer the dvd stops and i receive an error:Dataerror
and if i press the play button the main movie starts.

did you try Trahalds suggestion of searching Eyes Only Knowledge Base?Question:

I updated everything with ifoupdate but when stick the dvd in to play, it will start off by playing the FBI warning or other starting videos and then pause or stop . When I press play, it will go to the menu (where it is suppose to go). How can I fix this?

Answer:

Is your DVD stopping after a certain PGC/Cell after reauthoring with RA? IFOEdit>VTS_PGCITI>VTS_PGC_x. Find the cell that it is stopping on. Check the Restricted Angle value. If it's not 0, set it to 0! (Aqua has no idea why this happens, but confirms the issue.) also what happens if you load the video_ts.ifo in ifoedit then press 'get vts sectors'?

hmmm... i did it
than received some messages about
correcting sectors adresses
than VTS_10_0.ifo and VTS_10_0.BUP where created.
i have replaced the original files with these...and now it seems to work.
No error in Standalone and shrink loads it without any erorrs.

No idea what i have done ;)

No idea what i have done my guess would be:
1. not copied all of your original files/encoded files to a final destination folder prior to running ifoupdate
or
2. you have stripped or bypassed something in ifoedit and not corrected the vts sectors afterwards.

guess so too!! as i have copied it for the first time... normally i do only paste teh reencoded files into VIDEO_TS folder but this time i have not enough space.

THX for the support

sorry, copied wasnt the right word. i meant to say transferred.
for the record, here is the process i use (taken from the guide i wrote)Now a lot of users have expressed confusion at this stage but there really is no need for that. Eyes`Only has written an excellent guide for this step that is available in the doom9 forum but I will show you the technique I use. The reason for the slight difference between these methods, is that quite often there will be warnings and intros at the start of a DVD that I find extremely annoying, so I use 2cools Ifoedit guides to remove these from play. This can often be a trial and error exercise so I prefer to keep a back-up copy of my VIDEO_TS folder (with all the menus, ifos etc) handy in case there are any playback issues.

So here is what I do:

Create a new folder on your drive - I called mine 'SPIDERMAN'- and copy your VIDEO_TS folder that DIF4U/Numenu4U created, into this folder. Then I open up the VIDEO_TS folder in the '0' folder that Scenarist created and transfer (drag and drop) over the '.vob' files for the VTSes that I encoded/stripped. Note: if at any point you get a query asking if you wish to copy over an existing file then you are doing something wrong!

Then I open up IfoUpdate and point the:
'Original Ifo Path' to 'J:\SPIDERMAN\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO'
'Authored Ifo Path' to 'J:\SPIDEY\0\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO'
'Backup Ifo Path' to 'J:\SPIDEY\0\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0_IFO.BAK'

Then only update those .ifos that correspond with the .vobs that you transferred from the '0' Scenarist folder to your final folder.
so in essence:
1. create new seperate folder from your working directory
2. COPY the VIDEO_TS folder into this new folder (or transfer - your choice)
3. TRANSFER the necessary .vob files from your '0' folder that Scenarist created
4. ifoupdate only the .ifos that correspond to the .vobs you copied over in step 3.

..and it takes up almost no extra space than following the scenarist remuxing step.
