View Full Version : Re-ordering transport streams
Got a problem and have NO idea how to fix it.
Comcast transmits really screwed up transport streams (as capped via firewire from the HD cable box, the Motorola 6200).
Examples can be found at
My website (http://terminus.litz.org/hdtvtompeg2)
The 1080i .m2t files have sequence headers following AFTER the frames they are attached to.
Due to this, not a single utility -- period -- is able to handle these streams.
It doesn't matter if you demux to .m2v, convert to PS, or whatever. It's unusable.
Unfortunately, this makes it impossible to edit as well, as the only way to make a frame accurate edit is to load the mpeg2 into M2EDIT, then cut the ac3 in besplit, and remux.
Anyone have any ideas?
thanks

@litz,
Your sample 1920x1080 it is 1920x816 with 24 black lines on the bottom.
Audio AC3 2.0 384kb/sec
Converted/compresed sample you will find on:
on my page ftp://www.eb.enterpol.pl/
username www.eb.enterpol.pl]
password eb
file name 1980++.avi /14MB/
eb
I know how to convert this ... that isn't the problem.
The problem is getting access to the mpeg2, and editting it as mpeg2 video not converting it to avi.
I need to be able to fix this mpeg2 so it's readable by standard mpeg2 utilities to facilitate editting it.
By similar editting the ac3, you can then remux BACK to .ts format.
thanks, though ...

Have u tried using HDTV2MPEG? I know what you mean about the stream being messed up. My Hi-Pix can't play the files because they are so screwy, but when I use HDTV2MPEG it allows me to edit the files, and I can play them with the Elecard software player.
