Can anyone please tell me what are the SP and SI slices in the Extended Profile of AVC???

SP/SI are transition frames, used for bitrate scalability purposes.
Using these transition frames it is possible to switch between two streams without breaking the decoding precision (like it was ofted used in MPEG).
