First of all NIC thank for all the hard work you put to create this amazing tool.

But my success ratio is 30:70 that the process will finish without taking the whole system down.

i really dont know why it happens I use it with conjuction with DVD-RB to reencode my DVD movies.

I have no other application open. My system is 1800+, 512rAM, plenty of disk space. WIN XP.

as DVD-RB splits the movie to small parts and encodes it with the Quenc always after 3-6 parts are encoded without problem, then quenc either crashes which gives that windows error window. or takes whole system down.

too bad that NIC doesnt have any error logging stuff in so people can find out what has occured.

Has anyone had similar experience with QUENC.

I will go and try it on my 2k3 system.

For now I have to stay with rejig which unfortunately wont be developed any further.

thx.

QuEnc is like any other encoder. It stresses your machine. Since you said the crash is not distinct, I would suggest you do the old pre-certify your machine routine with the Prime95 torture test. If it can run it without error for say 4 hours then it may be a problem with QuEnc. If I were a developer I would not even pay attention to a problem like this unless the first few lines were, "I ran Prime 95 and memtest and had no problem".

Prime95 (http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm) for windows
Memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/)
