I want make a KSVCD with 480x576 (PAL) and MPEG-2.
I think this settings:
GOP size is 25?
I have to check KVCD notch matrix?
Maximum bitrate is 2500?
I must check Detection change scene?
Thanks.

Yes, KVCD Notch Matrix should be selected if you want to use QuEnc to make a KSVCD. If you select KVCD Notch Matrix be aware that some people are reporting a bug when used with Trellis Quant.(be aware that Trellis is also active if 'Extreme & Slow' setting is selected, so this setting should also be avoided if it also creates the bug.).
Selecting 'Scene Detection' should help in boosting quality by inserting an I frame at each new scene(hopefully).

Thanks jepkre.
How about of Maximum bitrate and size GOP for PAL?
nonono ...
- gop size 25 is nonsence. if u select 2 bframe u'd rather keep a 'mod3' gop size (12,15, ...) kvcd guys suggest 24. (it's got nothing common with framerate!)
- u 'musn't' select the notch matrix. it's just a possibility. try the default one too. (i like that)
- max video bitrate depends on the audio bitrate u want. the overall bitrate can't exceed ~2725 (check the correct value!) but some players do not bother too much about it while others do.
- scene change detection is a good thing (whoa, what an answer:-) but it may breake the gop structure. some player can stand it some can't. give it a try!

Hi,
Great work in incorporing the compatibility of avisynth files to the mencoder. There will be a compatible version with every CPU soon?
Seeya :)
