Is it ok to use the new update with GK/Robot4Rip? I assume I also have to replace "MPEG2Dec3.dll" in the GKnot root directory with the new "MPEG2Dec3dg.dll" aswell?
Thanks for the help!

Hi-
I think it's more of an AviSynth than an AutoGK/GKnot issue, but yes, it's OK to use the new DVD2AVIdg. I'm not real sure about R4R, though, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. When I first switched, I inadvertently forgot to also switch to the new MPEG2Dec3dg.dll and my script wouldn't open in VDubMod. So, yes, you have to replace both of them. Make sure that in the Options Tab of GKnot you have it named properly. Actually, I renamed mine as MPEG2Dec3.dll so I wouldn't have to change anything in there.
However, maybe I shouldn't be so positive about it working with no problems. I don't actually encode through GKnot, and maybe there are some differences that would affect something I don't understand, although I don't think so. If you have any problems, please report back, and I can ask len0x about it, if he doesn't see your thread in the meantime.
Edit: After playing with it for a few days, I now think we'll have to wait for len0x to update AutoGK/Gknot to take advantage of the new DVD2AVIdg/MPEG2Dec3dg combination. GKnot doesn't open the .d2vs. Sorry.

I also had that problem of not being able to open the d2v file created by the updated version of dvd2avidg. At first I thought I may have forgotten to copy the new mpeg2dec3dg.dll into the gordian knot folder, but after triple-checking that it was giving the same problems.
Guess we'll have to wait for an official update.

hmmm that's odd, everythings fine on my PC! I extracted the update DVD2AVI into the GKnot\DVD2AVI folder, and replaced the "MPEG2Dec3.dll" in the GKnot root with the new MPEG2Dec3dg.dll (renamed of course). I've also used it with R4R with no trouble aswell. So no problems here, what happens when you try to open a D2V file?
Just a thought - I'm using PAL over here, perhaps the problem only occurs when ForceFilm or NTSC is used?

Oh-so it's working for you? Good. Thinking back on it, when I first wrote my reply, I coulda sworn I had used it for a couple of movies. But then a few days later I realized I was unable to open the .d2vs (any longer?), and I was having to create an .avs and open that instead. And that's when I edited my remarks. Have to do some more testing, I guess, to try and troubleshoot it. But thanks for reporting, BluDChyLD.

DVD2AVIdg v1.20 RC5 works just fine for me in both AutoGK and GKnot. DVD2AVIdg v1.20 RC3 and earlier seemed to have problems in AutoGK. Grab DVD2AVIdg v1.20 RC5 here http://neuron2.net/fixd2v/
Edit: Remember to rename a copy of MPEG2Dec3dg.dll to mpeg2dec3.dll and put it in the rootfolder of GordianKnot. You may have to do the same with DVD2AVIdg.exe cause of robot4rip ... rename a copy to DVD2AVI.exe and put it in root too. Or maybe it is ok just to edit robot4rip.ini?
I missed new version of DVD2AVI. should have a look soon (at least for AutoGK there are some nice features I can use).

now starting with 1.20 AutoGK uses new dvd2avi/mpeg2dec3 combination (1.2.0 RC7). Procedure for upgrading your GK installation was correctly described in this thread as well.
