I installed the latest version of AutoGK (1.19) and I was converting movies using XviD and everything was working fine. I then decided to try the latest XviD (Koepi's 1.0-RC4). To do that I un-installed the Xvid that came with AutoGK and then installed the new XviD. Now when I run AutoGK, I am not able to select Xvid as the codec. It says "XviD is not installed. DivX will be used instead". Is there something I need to do differently? Is AutoGK compatible with XviD 1.0-RC4? Also, is it worth it (quality improvements) to upgrade to Xvid 1.0-RC4?

Thanks for your time.

I don't think there are really any "quality improvements" per se, but rather just some bug fixes between the two. How did you uninstall XVID? Did you use the BigFix method? If not, try that and see if you have the same problem, because RC4 and AutoGK 1.19 work fine together.

Doesn't AutoGK 1.19b already come with XviD 1.0 RC4?
I use mine without any problems.

Yes it does, but usually you can't just install a new version of XVID over an old one. You have to make sure everything has been removed from the PC, including registry settings.

My fault. I downloaded AutoGK Stable version (1.0) thinking it was 1.19. I then tried to upgrade to XviD 1.0 RC4 and it didn't work. Now I have downloaded AutoGK beta update, uninstalled old XviD, applied the patch and all is well.

Thanks everyone and sorry for wasting your time.
