Hi,
as pointed out it is possible to take any mpeg-2 (or vob) as input for AutoGK. But it is annoying to do that manually.
I've put together a simple WSH script file to support this task. It's intended use is to simplify the process of converting TV-captured video to XviD in a single pass.
The script (and doc) is downloadable at

interesting, I should put this into FAQ.

Andreas,
Wow great script! Thank you very much.
I'd suggest allowing for a setting in the script to bypass that question that pops up when you exit AutoGK. i.e. make it so that you can choose beforehand what you want it to do.
len0x: I know your time is very tight but adding this type of functionality into AutoGK would just be fantastic.

Thanks for the notice.
When this (or any similar) script is mentioned in the project's FAQ I'd suggest to speak of it strictly as example or start for any potential user. Doing so would avoid any kind of binding of the project to those little helpers.
This is an answer to Schrade, too. Though it may be a valuable change in general, using Scripting for things like this means that *you* are steering the machine ;-). Change, build up on the source or tear it all down at your own individual will.
Best,
Andreas

Oh, I myself use Gordian Knot.. I was just thinking about this for friends and family who don't know the first thing about video editing/encoding/etc.
I just liked how simple Auto Gordian Knot is and your script makes it simple for MPEG-2 capture files from a PVR system. Basically I was thinking about this for my brother who isn't very computer savvy.
