View Full Version : CCE settings for a non-interlaced 29.970fps NTSC source

Hi :)

I'm using a deinterlacer on a video to make it progressive or non-interlaced but the frame rate is still 29.970fps

So ...

I'm not sure how to set up CCE properly.

I know what to do for 23.976fps progressive NTSC and I know what to do when I have 29.970fps interlaced NTSC but it's like non-interlaced 29.970fps NTSC is somewhere in between.

So I'm not sure of what the settings should be ...

Should M=3 and N/M=4 or should I use N/M=5

Do I have to worry about checking or not checking UPPER FIELD FIRST?

Should I check or not check PROGRESSIVE FRAME FLAG?

Thanks in advance :)

Whether you use 3/4 or 3/5 for GOP size is a choice just like with 23.976 or 25 fps, as I recall 3/5 might yield better results at lower bitrates.

No need to check upper field first, as that is for interlaced material only.

Not sure what the deal is with the progressive frame flag.

Deinterlacing will never change the frame rate.
