I have been encoding my Stargate season 1-6 DVD's using AutoGK. I encode using VBR 160kbps Mp3 (I've tried different bitrates/ac3/cbr too).

Season 1 through 5 seem to work ok, but the encoded season 6 xvids have sound that is off from the video (early, as in the sound goes, then their lips move on screen later). I am wondering why this only seems to afflict one season, and the others work fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

P.S. I should also note that Nero Recode 2 Does not have this problem, but I run that directly off of the disk, while when I use autogk I use DVD decrypter with no stream processing in IFO mode.

I ran into exactly the same problem. Season 1-5 encoded with no problems, season 6 audio wouldn't synch. Then I used DVD Shrink to cut out the MGM lion at the begining of each episode -- all episodes in season 6 then encoded beautifully.

Good one, dC. I wonder if skypilot is still wondering about it.

You could almost certainly do it with DVD Decrypter also. Just delete the first chapter when decrypting. Of course, I'm assuming that the first chapter is the MGM logo, and only the MGM logo.

Or you could adjust the delay of your already encoded episodes by the length of that first chapter.

tried that first -- didn't work. it only worked for me when the MGM logo went away from the source VOBs. and, alas, chapter 1 includes much more than the MGM logo.
