I have a movie that was encoded in a the AC3 filter, but while playing it in WMP, it sounds distorted, like a half of the music is lagging.

When I looked at the properties, it said "AC3Filter 0002".

I have not a clue what '0002' is and I don't know if I can extract and normalize the sound.

Any feedback would be most appreciated! :) thanks

Looks like there are two AC3 streams ... or the first instance of AC3Filter failed to initialize.

i'm learning as i go here... :D

I do have 2 streams of the same ac3 audio in a movie, and one is out of sync and it is noticable.

so how can i reencode the movie with 1 stream of ac3, or remove one stream of audio?

thanks, again :)

well you don't have to reencode. just remuxing will be enough!

here's (http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm) some short guidelines for doing this in virtualdub(mod), which will be the easiest way to accomplish what you want!

The recent rash of *bumps* here in Newbies is becoming a little tiresome.

stuckinabunny--It's not like you resurrected this thread from the dim vaults of the archive, your request at the time of the *bump* was ninth in the queue, still on the first page, and easily accessible from the first screenload.....no scrolling required. Your kick-start also had nothing to do with DAvenger's dropping in to help, he was going to do that anyway, whether your request was first, or twentyfirst.

Not receiving a reply on a request that's been on the board for less than 24 hours isn't grounds for a bump, and doesn't mean we don't want to help you. Having several "looks" but no replies doesn't mean people don't want to help you, as the vast majority of the "looks" are coming from people just like you and me. We need lots of help and we're a curious lot. :)

Please exercise some patience and forego the *bumps*, I think you'll find that you'll do just as well (if not better) here without them.

And before I could post this, here comes Mr. Killingspree with even more help for you! See what I mean?

Sorry, I understand what you're saying, just I had spent hours trying to do this myself and was becoming erratic and impatient. (it may have also had something to do with my out of date computer...)

and killingspree, I will look, thanks for the link. I must have
overlooked the guide section.

edit: problem solved. thanks all :)
