View Full Version : Like to see "Analyse Only" option in AGK

In AutoGK I would like to see an option to do an analyse only operation so I could decide ahead of time how I want to choose the output size before the actual encode starts. I like to do the Target Quality % = 80 but sometimes the final files get way too big. At that time I may want to lower the percentage or chage to a custom size option.

I would also like to be able to batch the analyses files so I could select multiple analyses for each input directory so I could examine them to decide which would be the best choice.

Another option that would be nice would be for the Custom Size to be a maximum and not a set size. It seems as I encode that the Custom Size will creat a file size which would be >100% quality. So if the size was a maximum instead of an absolute you would get the best quality without going over a selected size. It could even be a lot faster as if the preset max turned out to be 80% or better it could just do a one pass.

I am still a newbie even though I have encoded hundreds of movies, AGK makes it so easy I don't feel like I know much about encoding.

Thank you.

You can always abort encoding if you're are not satisfied with analysis. I can see that's it appealing to you have analysis batch feature, but its out of scope - I don't wanna this tool to be used for analysis only - it was design to help encoding for newbies...

And I don't really understand what you want for custom size (niether do you probably :) ) as codec cannot accept "maximum size option", and 100% quality already does its best to fit it.
