Whats the main advantages/disadvantages of using CCE Basic or Re-Jig?

Rejig is just a transcoder (compresses) like DVD Shrink. CCE is a true encoder and capable of much better results. This is true when the disc has to be reduced much more. Transcoders can show pixellation when compressed too much.
I use Rejig/Shrink when the DVD has to be reduced by up to 20%. With anything more than 20%, I use a 2 pass encoder such as Quenc/CCE. However, CCE and Quenc can take many hours compared to less than half a hour with Rejig. It is best to settle for a compromise between quality and time.
Quenc is an excellent encoder and as it is free, it is a good alternative to CCE Basic.

Thanks mwg. How does rejig compare in quality to say Shrink? And as I already own CCE Basic, is it stll better to use Quenc?

I have used Shrink since the very first version and fine it a very likeable tool. I have had amazing quality from it even down to 60% compression (depends on the source DVD). I have got better results from Rejig and DVD-RB compared to Shrink with some DVD's. This first one was with Back to the Future (PAL). The picture with Rejig was noticeably sharper.
BTW, the Rejig program itself cannot do menus and is film only. DVD-RB is needed to add the menus.
As you already own CCE basic, then it makes sense to keep using it. I only tried out Quenc to see what it is like and was extremely surpised. I think Quenc maybe a little faster but is relatively new and CCE has been around a lot longer.
