Hey Everyone,

First time poster. I just wanted to hear from those who have experience streaming dvd rips to an xbox over a network. I would like to use my PC as a movie server strictly for my xbox.

What process is most effective? I'm a complete newbie and I am looking to be pushed along in the right direction. I've got the xbox side taken care of. I just need to learn the whole dvd ripping process, one exclusive for xboxes(if there is one).

Thanks! Any help is appreciated.

you can use dvd2xbox to dump the vobs to the hdd of your xbox, then ftp them over to your pc. you then use cxstream server gui to set up your shares on the xbox/pc network, use xbmc xbox media center to watch the vobs. unfortunately, you can only watch the vobs one by one. or, with a dvd rom drive in your pc, you can use smartripper to rip the vobs directly to your pc, and use the same method, only with this method, you should be able to use xbmc to load the ifo and it should play the whole movie without interruption. you could also try to use d2x to accomplish this, but i have not tried it. good luck, falcor
