I am getting this error all the time now, everytime i try to encode something. What could be the possible reason?
I copied the error and here it is...
Crash reason: Access Violation
Crash context:
An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'ntdll'.

which program are we talking about here ?
Anyway its either:
- hardware problem
- overclocking problem
- corrupted VOB (if you're trying the same source)

i am using vdubmod v1.5.4.1, i was using a replacement video card until now, but then i got my original video card back today and since then i am getting the problem with vdubmod. My video card is working perfect without any problems though. What do u think i should do? I am definitely not overclocking my cpu

Hi-
Are these crashes happening at the same place every time? Or are they happening at different places randomly? The former might point to a corrupt vob. You might try encoding a different movie to confirm that. The latter would point to a hardware problem, perhaps overheating. In that case, it will happen with every movie you try and encode.
So, you're saying the problem didn't begin until you replaced the video card with your original one? And with the card you were using before the problem never happened? It seems to me that there's an obvious conclusion to be drawn here.

Hi manono,
i think the crash was at roughly the same point, but i am not too sure. I am encoding another movie as i type, i hope it comes out all ok, and i hope that the problem was just a corrupt vob, i will post the results in the morning when i wake up, cheers for all the help so far guys

I'm having the same problem (VDub crashing) with just one of my rips, and I know it's corrupted. It was a scratched disc that DVDDecypter couldn't handle (I canceled it after several hours.) The errors are just in the credits, and it would be nice if VDub could just ignore them (or maybe there's some way to trim that part...)
Actually, I still got my AVI file at the end of the process anyway... I just had to click away 2 VDub crashes (which held everything up until I discovered the problem.) The file starts smearing and skipping audio at the end, and finially cuts off short.

hey guys,
here's an update on what's happening, it seems that it was a corrupted vob after all, i re-ripped it onto hdd using DVDDecrypter and it worked fine when i converted it. Glad it's all sorted now!
Cheers for all the help
