Hi ,
When I try to open a movie I got the following massage
Nothing to output b-frame lag ?
What does this mean ?

I've always thought it is better to duplicate the first decodable frame rather than output nothing, but that is just me. :)

But isn't that what B-frame lag is all about, i.e. that you'll only be able to get a properly decoded frame from the second frame onwards so there is nothing meaningful you can display for the first frame?
After all, it's the VfW application pushing the frames into the codec, so you can't just look ahead at the second one - if you could look ahead the whole problem wouldn't exist... :)
(Then again, I'd rather have a black frame than that message and a notice in the docs that come with the codec...)
EDIT: Okay, then again - the file really ought to start with an I-frame, so I guess you could duplicate the first frame... hmmm...
