View Full Version : AutoGK - Subtitles Bug or Feature

Hi,

I have a gripe with AutoGK and while I can live with it I am not sure if it is a bug or a feature and seeming I can't find it mentioned anywhere else figured I would do so here.

When selecting "force subtitles" and issuing a "Preview" request, the preview contains all subtitles from the stream - forced or not.

When I generate the movie only the forced subtitles are displayed as one would expect - so movie generation works correctly.

However this means I can not directly use the "Preview" feature to see if I have chosen the right stream with the forced subtitles. (At the moment this is the only way I have for finding forced wsub titles).

The work around is to Edit the AVS file and change the FORCED-SUBTITLES from OFF to ON (or vice versa) - and then reopen the AVS file and view to ensure that the forced credits are in fact in the chosen stream. While this works just fine, it would seem that AutoGK could change the setting from ON to OFF depending on the options chosen for Forced-Subtitles.

Cheers.

Interesting that noone mentioned this before. It was not intended to be like this, but rather preview code was not updated for a while (not since forced subs were introduced). I'll have a look

Just got the new version and it seems to be fixed, however I suspect that a new bug may have been introduced...

I have only tested this with one DVD but the following happens:

When changing Subtitle tracks between Previews the subtitles do not change.

In all examples "Forced Only is checked"

Example:
Select "No Subtitles"
Select Preview (DVD2AVI Runs)
No Subtitles Shown

Select "English Subtitles"
Select Preview (Subtitle Indexing Runs)
English Subtitles shown

Select "No Subtitles"
Select Preview - Media Player opens instantly
English Subtitles shown

Shutdown AutoGK - Start AutoGK
Select Same output dir and filename
Select "No Subtitles"
Select Preview - DVD2AVI Runs
English Subtitles Shown

The only work around appears to be to delete the three files related to the subtiltes when you want to change subtitles. The DVD I experimented with only had "English" or "No Subtitles" as options.

Cheers

Ok, its actually vobsub picking up those idx files automatically even if they are not in avs script (if they are then you get double subs). Solution is not to associate vobsub with avs file (no idea how its done but on my systems for instance vobsub is never launched when I open avs script in media player).

Sort of a feature. :)
