Hi everybody,

OK, this must be a really stupid and elementary question for all of you, but... here it is:

I ripped a subtitle stream to a separate file. So now I have a bunch of VOB files and the corresponding IFO in one directory, and another directory contains my SUB file and another IFO.

All I want to do now is to turn the SUB file into an SRT text file with subtitles. And I cannot figure out how do it. Somehow SubRip does not "see" subtitles, even if I copy them over into the same directory where VOB's are contained.

I push the Start button, and it starts doing something, and after 10 minutes the only outcome is a number of SRM files. What am I doing wrong???

Thanks!

Why don't you ripp the subtitles directly with SubRip? Then you will get the srt format inmediatelly.

Well, initially I wasn't going to rip subtitles at all.

Then I changed my mind and ripped them into a separate file.

And I don't have the DVD anymore... :(

Use vobsub (available at download page of www.doom9.org) and OCR the sub\idx to srt. (With help of VobSub Configure/Subresync):)

If you have the DVD files in HDD with IFO, you can still use SubRip to parse the subtitle.
