This has happened to me twice now out of about 8 backed up titles. The backup doesn't include the movie sound track but instead features the sound track of the director discussing the making of the movie.
My backup procedure:
DVD Decrypter to create an ISO with an associated MDS file.
DVD Shrink 3.1.7.6 in Re-author mode
- Add Title 1 under Main Movie (the only item available under Main Movie)
- Add No items under Menus
- Add No items under Extras
- Check AC3 2-ch English only
Files created by DVD Shrink
1. VIDEO_TS.BUP
2. VIDEO_TS.VOB
3. VTS_01_0.BUP
4. VTS_01_0.IFO
5. VTS 01_0.VOB
6. VTS 01_1.VOB
7. VTS 01_2.VOB
8. VTS 01_3.VOB
9. VTS 01_4.VOB
10.VTS 01_5.VOB
Burned automatically using Nero.
Any idea where it went wrong?
BTW, I tried to find a previously posted thread on this but without success.

hi bupkus and welcome to the forum!
- Check AC3 2-ch English only
i believe that this may be your problem. as you are only selecting the 2ch audio there may be some confusion as to which audio is the 2ch mixed soundtrack and which is the directors commentary.
for example, this particular title has:Title Set (Movie) attributes:
Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (16:9) (letterboxed)
Audio 1: English (Dolby AC-3) 6ch 48Kbps DRC (ID: 0x80)
Audio 2: English (Dolby AC-3) 2ch 48Kbps DRC (ID: 0x81)
Audio 3: English (Dolby AC-3) 2ch 48Kbps DRC director's comments (ID: 0x82) and when i open this dvd in Shrink, it shows me the different audio avaliable, and if i deselected all but the last ac3 - 2 ch audio, i would only get the directors commentary avaliable.
another problem you may be having is that when you have stripped the audio streams, the directors commentary is placed as default audio. you can fix this by using Ifoedit, and this guide by 2cool:
Correcting Menu Language Buttons After Stripping Unwanted Audio(s) Guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46909)
hope that helps

- Check AC3 2-ch English only
Was ac3 2ch the first, second, third, etc, option? Im betting it was the 3rd or 4th, most newer dvds have ac3 5.1, foreign, then 2ch directors comments. 99 out of 100 times you'll select the first audio option ac3 5.1, or dts 5.1.
.
2ch ac3 isn't always labeled directors commentary but almost always is.
.
sometimes you'll get
5.1 ac3 english
5.1 dts english
2.0 ac3 french
2.0 ac3 english (it might not be labeled commentary but it is)
.
or
5.1 ac3 english
5.1 dts english
2.0 ac3 english
1.0 ac3 english
2.0 ac3 french
2.0 ac3 english
.
guess which one is actually audio and what is commentary.

My audio options on Title 1 appear as follows:
1. AC3 5.1-ch English 379 MB
2. AC3 5.1-ch French 379 MB
3. AC3 2-ch English 163 MB
This time around I'll choose 5.1 English and see what happens.
Ok, that fixes it.
Thanks everyone.
