This is about the third time DVD-RB encoded my movie without audio. Whenever I check only the 2 channel stereo audio only and unceck DTS and 6 channel audio, the finished movie does not have an audio source.
I really dont feel like spending another 6 hours encoding the movie. Is there a way to rip the audio and rebuild it to the temp files I still have in the D2VAVS directory without having to rip and encode the whole movie over again?

I forgot to add Im using the latest build v.036 of DVD-RB with CCE 2.50. Ive made other movies successfully but only after cheching all audio sources. This seems to happen only when I choose only one audio source and uncheck the others.

Usually the 5.1 channel AC3 is selected when you start playing the movie from the menu. And the 2channel stereo needs to be MANUALLY selected in the dvd menu or using the AUDIO button on the remote.
If you remove the #1 channel in dvd shrink, you'll get the same result (no audio) untill you switch to the channel that you left in there.
Just a suggestion if this wasnt clear to you.

I havent burned the DVD yet. i've only tried it out in Power DVD on my computer and it says audio:not availabe when I choose to show information, and the audio button is greyed out so I cant choose another audio source.

How about through the menu? If the Prohibited User Operations are not removed, the disc may stop you from changing audio during play. Although this is not common anymore and used to piss people off with Disney discs.

Ok I burned it to a DVD+RW and tried it. It works in my DVD player. You were right. I had to switch it to the right audio. For some reason PowerDVD just wouldnt let me. I was about to scrap this whole movie. Thanks man. :)

Cool! I usually remove the 2channel stereo audio instead of the 6channel AC3 for this reason.. somebody will put the disc in the player and wonder why theres no audio :)
EDIT: Though there is a workaround for this somewhere in this forum, where you use ifoedit to switch the ID# of the audio streams so your 2channel becomes ID#1 and always plays. It was pretty complicated though.
EDIT2: On further thought, I had a similar thing with DVDShrink and subtitles. If I remove the #1 subtitle, my other standalone wont let me choose ANY subs through the remote (just says OFF) and I have to use the dvd menu. So I never remove #1 sub.

Would an easier solution be to set the audio status of ripped streams to 0 in the .ifo? This usually makes them unselectable and the player will automaticlly play the next stream.

So if stream #1 is set to 0 will #2 become #1? Because that is not desireable as it will shift all streams up by a number.

No it won't, so you're menus will still work. but if you select a audio stream that is removed the player will skip to the next audio track on playback (at least mine does).
Also, if you use PowerDVD the zeroed out streams will be greyed out on the audio menu, and when you click the change audio button it will skip over the removed ones.

Also, some people make a mistake with Powerdvd.
When you play in powerdvd, don't play the VOB files directly. Ninety per cent of the time it won't have audio. There is a play DVD files from folder option if you haven't burned the DVD yet.

I'll come up with a way to swap channels. But it will be buried somewhere (maybe an INI like DDogg suggests) so it is only complicated for those who really want it.
