Sorry mods, I don't know how I posted this in the wrong thread. Please move to Software Players forum.

I need to have autorun DVDs (actually mini-dvds cause I burn on cd-r) where the software player is included on the disk, so that it will play on any windows pc. For this I use media player classic, and it works but not well. The DVDs are what I call virtual resumes so they are just a series of many stills and some short clips. MPC randomly locks up on me as I navigate through my menus. It does this whether I play the files off the disk or off the hard drive. The DVDs are authored with Scenarist.

I've tried using both the XP and 98 versions, I've tried using the built in mpeg2 and AC3 filters as well as including 3rd party ones (Elucard mpeg2 decoder and ac3filter), I've tried with mpeg1, I've tried minimizing stream overhead (closed + small gops, low bitrate), I tried authoring everything in one titleset and authoring in multiple titlesets, and I have tested my disks on about 10 different pcs on pretty much every windows os.

They are fully compliant as far as I can tell and they play great if I use any other commercial media player.

Does anyone have a suggestion on another software player to use or something that I can do to get MPC to work?

Thanks.
