I want to capture upt to 8 hours experimental sessions from an infrared video camera to disk.
I am capturing bird orientation behaviour in a round experimental cage from a top IR camera. necessary qualities are: round display of the cage, 5 frames/second, grey scale is fine, I don't need audio.
I was capturing with the Matrox Marvel G450 cTV card using virtual dub on a windows 2000 machine (40 bit RGB; frame size 640x480; 5 frames/sec; grayscale filter; no audio; Huffyuv v2.1.1. compression; composite video). this gave me the output I aimed for.
no I try to set up the same procedute for a machine which runs windows XP and has a All-In-Wonder 9600 series card. I tried to use identical settings as used previously, but this doesn't work. I can't select the 24-buit RGB option but have to choose YUY2.
also I get an egg shaped circle (even by using the same frame size which worked fine before), further more, that the picture I capture is spilt oddly, normally I expect to be the circle centered on the screen, which is not the case, but the lower 1/3 of the screen is added on top of the upper 2/3 (ahrgh ... if anyone can guess, what I want to say
maybe someone is coming up with an idea? I am sorry, i am novice at this terrain and therefore might ask stupid questions.....
thanks a lot in advance
