Before I reinvent the wheel, I would like to check with you, if someone has tried the following concept with success?

I had some trouble getting Rebuilder to fly (see post below), but I got it to work. I noted though, that menues are exempt from compression. If a DVD is heavy on menues, I thought it might be an idea to run it through a quick encoder like shrink or IC8 and only compress the menues to half size. Then feed the result to rebuilder. Has anyone tried this yet? Or can rebuilder be told to reduce menues as well?

Rebuilder do not compress menus yet, but maybe sometime in the future ? :)
Remember that it is an early beta, even if Jdobbs is fixing bugs almost as fast as we can find them. :D :D

Yes you can compress the menus with shrink and use no compression for the rest, or strip them using ifoedit or dvdstripper (but dont blame dvdrb if you stripped the menu wrong) if your experienced.

I also use TitleSetBlanker to get rid of thx, dolby or studio animations to save some size.
