View Full Version : XviD 1.0 Credits support?

Is there already an entry on the todo-list for credits encoding with XviD? This is one the one thing I'm still missing in GK (over DivX5 for which support has been around for a while now). It would really be nice if GK would also add support/options for XviD 1.0 "zones" to be able to encode credits at a lower bitrate.

it already does that. GK uses Zone 2 for that (but you have to set Zone 1 manually though)

Sorry (for my stupidity, maybe) but I don't really understand what you mean hear (and thus how to accomplish this)..... Could you provide me with an example?

As long as default XviD codec settings have one zone in them already, GK will make all necessary for credits encoding via second zone...

P.S. I assume if you're askling for Zone support you know how it works...

hi arno, i think i understand what you mean. but gk already does that when you select the start of credits in the d2v file preview window. does that help?

Ok. To be clear. This is what I should do:
- I select the credits start in the preview screen.
- Next I select I want to encode the "whole" movie
- And finally I "only" have to specify what quality (eg. 0.20) zone 2 should get, and I don't need to worry about the frame start of zone 2 as this is handled by GK. Right?

correct, quality is not percentage, but a fixed quantizer for that zone though...

len0x, can't you do it like they do it in FairUse? (select a certain frame and then use that frame as the start for the credits/low bitrate thingy)

Have you tried new GK? Please re-phrase as I don't understand the question.
