is this the beta version of AUTO GK acting up or what? I have successfuly made movies with AUTO GK 1.10 beta though.

Why are the b-frames switching off and compression rates insane???

Hi-

You're making both movies for 3 CDs, and with the default AutoGK settings, you'd be unable to reach that size (compress test results greater than 100%). So, AutoGK makes some adjustments to allow you to reach that size. These adjustments make the movie less compressible and include raising the resolution and turning off the B-Frames.

It looks to me as if the first one for sure (it won't make the 3 CDs even with the revised settings), and probably the second one as well, can be successfully ripped to 2 CDs instead.

And if you're using the new XviD 1.0 RC4, were you careful to uninstall your previous version of XviD before doing the install?

odd.... so going to 3 cds really instead of 2 would in a sense lower the quality?

if it fits on 2 cds, I would lose quality by trying to force something that is compressible enough to go for 3 cds?

I was just doing what ya told me to do that time when I got those softer matrixes and the 3rd cd make a huge difference in those (but those I presume were not as compressible since they had like 45 percent and needed softer matrixes to gain compressiblity)

at any rate yeah I believe 3 cds is my problem.

trying now with 2 cd and will let ya know if it switches off bi-frames.

and no haven't used the new xvid codec, just using one that comes with AUTO GK.

does the latest version of that codec make any critical differences?

appreciate the help

(and donated to ya guys at doom9.org for your help :p)

hmm either this movie is really really compressible

or something else is up with these b-frames.

trying one cd now , hopefully the percentage will be lower

bit odd though I've always envied this problem lol.

results with two cd below

*********** edit ***********

appears to have done it compressibility percentage 83.26 with 1 cd, hmm well great finally found my first extremely compressible movie and saves space too

appreciate the help manono
