I previously left a question on applying filters...

I figured out how to do that. After creating the file, when I go to open the new file, I get that Windows Explorer "Send Error Report" box. Seems like windows is encountering an error upon opening it.

This even occurs when I try to play it with Power DVD.

Any ideas as to why this would happen?

Is the best way to apply filters is using AviSynth?

Thanks for any help!!!

Well, it seems when I use huffyuv commpression and try to play the resulting avi, I get the error as explained. Not sure why that would happen...

I tried uncompressed, which resulted in both choppy video and audio.

MJPEG seems to be the only one that works. Although, when adding Don Graft's msharpen filer (with the RGB filter), it starts to get choppy and hollow sounding.

Does anybody know why?

Does it matter what the source is? Meaning, if the source was already compressed with, say huffyuv and then run it thru VirtualDub to make uncompressed, will that cause choppy results?

I had a similiar problem a few days ago (at the moment I selected an avi file the VD(Mod) crashed). In my case XviD (?!) seems to have been the problem. I reinstalled it, and everything went back to normal
